Zebrano Dome

Zebra Wood is found mainly in the African rain forest of Cameroon. The trees are sizable  and are mainly found in remote areas making it difficult and quite costly to harvest. Its striking grain, of alternating black and brown stripes on a tan background, is quite reminiscent of a zebra, thus its name Zebrawood. It is 25% harder than Red Oak and has an attractively lustrous surface that finishes well. Over the years Zebrawood undergoes a medium degree of color change with the the tan background becoming a more intense golden brown and the dark striping becomes even darker. Because of its design qualities, it is highly valued for accent pieces, such as handles, turnings, and furniture, amongst conversational accent pieces and Humidors. It is also used for flooring and accents on boats.
